Romaji input
A Japanese input method where the user types romanized Japanese (e.g., 'sushi') and the system converts it into kana or kanji. Common on computers and smartphones.
パソコンで日本語を打つときは、ローマ字入力を使っています。
When typing Japanese on my computer, I use Romaji input.
Kana input: typing directly with kana keys, as opposed to Romaji input where you type roman letters.
Compound of ローマ字 (rōmaji, 'Roman letters') and 入力 (nyūryoku, 'input').
