上うえは

Used to express a logical consequence or condition based on a given situation. Often follows a verb in the plain form or a noun + である. Similar to 以上は, but slightly more formal or literary.

• 約やく束そくした上うえは、必かならず守まもります。

  Now that I have promised, I will definitely keep it.

• 学がく生せいである上うえは、勉べん強きょうを第だい一いちに考かんがえるべきだ。

  As long as you are a student, you should prioritize your studies.
