noun
baiman; win worth 16000 points (24000 if dealer)
A mahjong scoring term for a hand worth 16,000 points as a non-dealer, or 24,000 points as the dealer. Equivalent to a mangan multiplied by 2.
彼は倍満を上がって一気にトップに立った。
He won a baiman and suddenly took the lead.
役満 (yakuman) is the highest scoring hand, worth 32,000 points (48,000 if dealer), and is not simply a multiple of mangan.
倍 (bai, 'double') + 満 (man, from 満貫 mangan). Literally 'double mangan'.
