pseudogene
A DNA sequence that resembles a gene but is non-functional. Used in genetics and molecular biology.
Pseudogenes are thought to be remnants of once-functional genes.
Many pseudogenes exist in the genome.
遺伝子 is a functional gene, while 偽遺伝子 is a non-functional copy or remnant.
