Used when someone deliberately reserves or spends time for a purpose. Often followed by a purpose clause with ために or のに.
毎朝、朝食のために時間を取る。
I set aside time for breakfast every morning.
彼は家族と過ごす時間を取る
He makes a point of taking time to spend with his family.
