Archaic term for the traditional Japanese hour corresponding to the Sheep, roughly 1–3 PM or 2–4 PM depending on the system. Used in historical contexts.
In the Edo period, the hour of the Sheep referred to around 2 PM.
From the traditional Chinese zodiac time system, where the day was divided into twelve two-hour periods, each associated with an animal sign. 未 (Sheep) corresponds to the eighth period.
