Archaic term for the craft of making arrows or the person who makes them. In modern contexts, the concept is usually expressed with phrases like 矢を作る人 or 矢の羽付け.
Fletchers were important craftsmen for medieval samurai.
Compound of 矢 (ya, 'arrow') and 細工 (saiku, 'craftsmanship, work'). The reading ざいく is a rendaku form of さいく.
