A legal term referring to a person who has been adjudicated incompetent and placed under a guardian. This term was used under the old Civil Code; the current term is 成年被後見人 (seinen hikōken'nin).

• 禁きん治ち産さんの宣せん告こくを受うけた者ものは、法ほう律りつ行こう為いを単たん独どくで行おこなうことができない。

  A person who has been declared incompetent cannot perform legal acts on their own.

• 旧きゅう民みん法ぽうでは、禁きん治ち産さん者しゃには後こう見けん人にんが付ふされた。

  Under the old Civil Code, a guardian was appointed for an incompetent person.
