electuary; medicinal paste
A thick, kneaded medicinal preparation, often mixed with honey or syrup, taken orally. A somewhat technical term; in everyday contexts, people may simply say 薬 or describe the form.
In Kampo medicine, an electuary made by kneading powdered crude drugs with honey is sometimes used.
