Used when a pawnbroker or lender accepts an item as collateral for a loan. The item is held until the loan is repaid.

• 彼かれは時計とけいを質しつに取とって金きんを貸かした。

  He took the watch as a pledge and lent money.

• 質しち屋やはその指ゆび輪わを質しちに取とった。
