Used to cut off someone who is hedging or making excuses, especially when they say しかし (but). The phrase literally means 'there is no しかし or scarecrow', playing on the sound similarity between しかし (but) and かかし (scarecrow).

• 「しかし…」「しかしも案山子かかしもない！さっさとやれ。」

  "But..." "No buts! Just get on with it."

• 言いい訳わけは聞ききたくない。しかしも案山子かかしもないんだ。

  I don't want to hear excuses. No ifs or buts.
