Usage patterns

• 〈人ひと〉にチョコレートをあげるto give someone chocolate (e.g. on Valentine's Day)

  バレンタインデーに好すきな人ひとにチョコレートをあげた。

  I gave chocolate to the person I like on Valentine's Day.

• チョコレートが溶とけるfor chocolate to melt

  暑あつい車くるまの中なかでチョコレートが溶とけてしまった。

  The chocolate melted in the hot car.

• 〈物もの〉にチョコレートをかけるto drizzle/coat something with chocolate

  アイスクリームにチョコレートをかけて食たべた。

  I poured chocolate over the ice cream and ate it.
