Technical term used in diagrams, blueprints, and engineering drawings to show an object as seen from above.
The blueprint includes a top view and a side view.
側面図 is a side view, often contrasted with 上面図 in technical drawings.
Compound of 上面 (top surface) + 図 (diagram).
