A Chinese festival held on the 15th day of the first lunar month, marking the end of the New Year celebrations. In Japanese contexts, it may be referred to as 小正月 (こしょうがつ) or simply 元宵.

In China, there is a custom of eating sweet dumplings called yuanxiao during the Lantern Festival.
