召めし放はなつ

Archaic transitive verb. Used in classical Japanese for singling out and summoning someone from a group. The modern equivalent would be 呼び出す or 選び出す.

• 古こ記き録ろくには「兵つわものの中なかより勇ゆう士しを召めし放はなつ」とある。

  In old records, it says 'to call out a brave warrior from among the soldiers.'
