Jimyōin line; Jimyōin imperial lineage
Historical term referring to the imperial lineage from Emperor Go-Fukakusa to Emperor Go-Komatsu, one of the two rival lines during the Nanboku-chō period.
The Jimyōin line and the Daikakuji line contended for the imperial throne during the Nanboku-chō period.
Named after the Jimyōin (持明院) temple residence of Emperor Go-Fukakusa, from which this imperial line originated.
