Dated transitive use meaning to cause harm or ruin something. Rare in modern conversation; 損なう is more common.
古い言い方では、「健康を損する」のように使われた。
In older usage, it was used like 'to harm one's health'.

The sale had ended, and I felt like I'd missed out.
He's too honest for his own good, and often ends up losing out because of it.
損する means to lose money or suffer a financial loss, the direct opposite of 儲かる, which means to turn a profit.
