Meanings
Used for a goal or target one is working toward, often with dates, amounts, or milestones in patterns such as 〜をめどに.
We plan to open a new shop around next spring as our target.
I will finish compiling the report by around the end of this month.
prospect; outlook; likelihood of completion
Common in set-like expressions such as めどが立つ, めどがつく, and めどが立たない, meaning that the prospect for solving, completing, or arranging something has become clear or remains unclear.
