調しらべて置おく

godan verb (-ku)

examine beforehand; check in advance; look up ahead of time

Used when you investigate or look into something in preparation for a future situation. The ～ておく construction adds the meaning of doing the action in advance.

• 旅りょ行こうの前まえに、現げん地ちの天てん気きを調しらべておく。

  Before the trip, I check the local weather in advance.

• 会かい議ぎの前まえに、資し料りょうを調しらべておいてください。

  Please look over the materials before the meeting.
