まかる

godan verb (-ru), intransitive verb

be able to get a discount; be reducible in price

Intransitive potential form of 負ける (sense 5, 'to reduce price'). Used when the seller can lower the price, or the price itself can be reduced. Often in the negative まからない to mean 'cannot give a discount'.
