Most often used in the set phrase 路頭に迷う (to be homeless, to be stranded). Outside of this phrase, it is a somewhat literary term for the side of a road.

• 失しつ業ぎょうして路ろ頭とうに迷まよう人ひとが増ふえている。

  More people are losing their jobs and ending up homeless.

• 路ろ頭とうに立たって、行ゆき交かう人ひと々びとを眺ながめた。

  I stood by the roadside and watched the people passing by.
