A technical term in cell biology referring to the clear, fluid portion of the cytoplasm. Used mainly in scientific contexts.
In the cytoplasm, the hyaloplasm refers to the portion that does not contain organelles.
Composed of 透明 (transparent) and 質 (substance, quality). The term is a direct calque from the biological concept of hyaloplasm.
