New Year's pine decoration
A traditional Japanese decoration placed in pairs at the entrance of homes or buildings during the New Year period, typically made of pine branches, bamboo, and sometimes plum sprigs.
正月には玄関に門松を飾ります。
We decorate the entrance with kadomatsu for the New Year.
Kadomatsu are often made with pine, bamboo, and plum.
We set up kadomatsu at the gate before New Year's Day.
A kadomatsu is displayed at the company entrance too.
Once the New Year's pine season ends, we take down the kadomatsu.
