current collector; power collector
Technical term for the device on an electric vehicle (train, tram, trolleybus) that collects current from overhead wires or a third rail. Common examples include pantographs and trolley poles.
The current collector on the roof of a train is called a pantograph.
If the current collector disconnects from the overhead wire, the train cannot move.
