Solomon's seal (Polygonatum falcatum)
A perennial plant native to Japan, with arching stems and white bell-shaped flowers.
Solomon's seal is blooming in the corner of the garden.
Usually written in katakana; the kanji form 鳴子百合 is rare.
Kanji spelling; rarely used in practice.
The name ナルコユリ (鳴子百合) is said to come from the resemblance of its flowers to the clappers of a 鳴子 (naruko, a bird-scaring device), combined with 百合 (yuri, lily).
