くらい・ ぐらいのものだAbout the only one
This construction presents a person, thing, time, or situation as about the only example that fits a stated description. It makes a softer, approximate exclusivity claim rather than insisting that there are absolutely no exceptions.
How the limitation works
First state the property that defines the small qualifying group. Then name one candidate and attach くらいのものだ or ぐらいのものだ. The result is close to “about the only one” or “one of the very few,” depending on context.
A clear clause frame

Ms. Hayashi is about the only person in this laboratory who can repair that equipment alone.
AnalyzePraise, criticism, and rarity

AnalyzeA time can be the limited candidate just as naturally as a person or thing.
Softer versus absolute uniqueness
くらいのものだ sounds relatively conversational and leaves room for approximation: the candidate is “about the only one.” By contrast, をおいてほかにない is more formal and presents the candidate as having no alternative.
この難局を任せられるのは、佐藤氏をおいてほかにいない。
There is no one but Mr. Sato to whom we can entrust this crisis.
AnalyzeThis is the neighboring formal construction, not the target pattern.
