ようでは・
ようでは warns that the current state is inadequate or undesirable and that, if it continues, a bad result will follow or a goal will be impossible. ようじゃ is its conversational form.
The warning built into the form
The first clause describes an ongoing tendency, level of ability, attitude, or state of preparation. The second clause gives the adverse consequence: failure, difficulty, danger, or inability. The point is not simply “if this happens,” but “if things are in this inadequate state.”
Ability, preparation, and attitude
Common contexts include insufficient preparation and behavior that does not match the goal.
基本的な用語も覚えていないようでは、この試験には合格できない。
If you have not even learned the basic terms, you will not be able to pass this exam.

What normally follows
The result should be clearly unfavorable. Typical endings express that something cannot be done, will be difficult, is unlikely to succeed, or may lead to trouble. A neutral consequence does not fit the usual force of this construction.
Conversational contraction
来月の大会、出るんだよね？
You are entering next month's tournament, right?

Yeah. But I still haven't practiced at all.
Analyzeまだ全然練習してないようじゃ、勝つのは難しいよ。
If you still haven't practiced at all, winning is going to be difficult.
Analyzeようじゃ matches the relaxed conversational style of the exchange.
A warning, not a neutral condition
ようなら can neutrally set a condition based on signs that something may be true. By contrast, ようでは judges the state as problematic and warns of an adverse result. They are therefore not interchangeable simply because both can be translated with “if.”
雨が降るようなら、屋内で練習します。
If it looks as though it will rain, we will practice indoors.
