ようなら presents a condition based on signs, reported circumstances, or a tentative assessment. The rest of the sentence gives advice, an instruction, an offer, or a plan appropriate if that assessment is correct.
An assessed condition
ようなら does not present the condition as a fully confirmed fact. The speaker may be reacting to visible signs, information they have heard, or the listener's own judgment about how the situation feels.
雨が強くなるようなら、試合は延期しましょう。
If it looks as though the rain will get heavier, let's postpone the match.

Assessment versus a direct premise
なら directly accepts something as the premise for what follows. ようなら instead means roughly “if things seem to be that way,” so choose it when the condition depends on signs, incomplete information, or someone's assessment.
