Expresses that something is the reason or cause for a result. In Japanese, this is often conveyed through conjunctions, adverbial phrases, or sentence-ending particles that link cause and effect.

そのため is neutral and suitable for both speech and writing. だから is casual and often used in conversation. それで is also casual but implies a natural flow of events, like 'and so'. In formal writing, prefer そのため or したがって.

Do not directly translate 'because of this' as これのせいで or これのため unless the context is very specific. The natural Japanese expressions are the conjunctions and phrases listed above.
