topic, subject
題 centers on a heading or subject that sets the focus: a topic for discussion or a subject to be addressed.
題 combines 是 (straight, correct) with 頁 (head), originally referring to the forehead or front, and later extended to mean a heading or topic.
The left side 頁 means head, and the right side 是 suggests something straight or correct. Imagine a headline written straight across the top of a page—the head of the text—setting the topic.
For ダイ, picture a die with a topic written on each face: die -> ダイ, and you roll it to pick the subject.
