Derogatory term for a woman with a specific facial type: small low nose, high flat forehead, and bulging cheeks. Often contrasted with ひょっとこ (a comical male face).

Abbreviation of お亀蕎麦 (okame soba): a bowl of soba noodles in hot broth topped with boiled fish paste, shiitake mushrooms, greens, seaweed, etc. The name may derive from the resemblance of the toppings to the facial features of the Okame mask.
