Used when you fail to catch a scheduled vehicle, especially a train or boat. Intransitive; the thing missed is marked with に.

• 寝ね坊ぼうして電でん車しゃに乗のり逃のがした。

  I overslept and missed the train.

• あと少すこしのところでバスに乗のり逃のがした。

  I missed the bus by just a little.
