Intransitive. Literary and somewhat archaic; used for staying somewhere temporarily, often with a nuance of lodging in a place not one's own. In modern Japanese, 滞在する or 仮住まいする are more common.
彼は京都に寓して、執筆活動を続けた。
He sojourned in Kyoto and continued his writing.

Transitive. Literary and rare; used when a statement or work implies something indirectly. Modern equivalents include 暗示する or ほのめかす.
その詩は人生の無常を寓している。
The poem implies the transience of life.
