Used when actions, plans, or timing are deliberately coordinated with another person or event. Often appears as ~と絡めて.

He spoke by weaving his opinion into the other person's argument.

Archaic or literary term for physically restraining or arresting someone, often by binding. The kanji 搦める is specific to this sense, but 絡める may also be used.
時代劇では、悪者を搦めて縄をかける場面がある。
In period dramas, there are scenes where they arrest the villain and bind him with rope.
