higonokami; traditional Japanese folding knife
A simple folding knife with a metal handle, originally from the Miki region. The blade folds into the handle without a locking mechanism.

The name 肥後守 (Higo no Kami) originally referred to a honorary title for the governor of Higo Province, but was later adopted for this style of knife. The exact connection is uncertain.
