Used when something or someone is looked for but cannot be located. Often implies a search has been made. The negative form of 見当たる.

• 鍵かぎが見み当あたらない。どこに置おいたかな。

  I can't find my keys. Where did I put them?

• 会かい場じょうに彼かれの姿すがたは見み当あたらなかった。

  He was nowhere to be seen at the venue.
