Usage patterns

• イラストを描かくto draw an illustration

  She's good at drawing illustrations of cats.

• 〈物もの〉にイラストを入いれるto add illustrations to something (a book, page, etc.)

  この絵え本ほんにはかわいいイラストが入はいっている。

  This picture book has cute illustrations in it.

• イラストを担たん当とうするto be in charge of the illustrations (for a book, project, etc.)

  その本ほんのイラストを担たん当とうしたのは有ゆう名めいな作さっ家かだ。

  A famous artist was in charge of the illustrations for that book.

• イラストを添そえるto add an illustration alongside text or an explanation

  説せつ明めいにわかりやすいイラストを添そえた。
