Usage patterns

• 廊ろう下かを歩あるくto walk along the corridor

  静しずかに廊ろう下かを歩あるいてください。

  Please walk quietly along the corridor.

• 廊ろう下かを走はしるto run in the corridor (often used in warnings not to)

  学がっ校こうの廊ろう下かを走はしってはいけません。

  You mustn't run in the school corridor.

• 廊ろう下かに立たつto stand in the hallway (often as a punishment or while waiting)

  先せん生せいに怒おこられて廊ろう下かに立たたされた。

  I got scolded by the teacher and made to stand in the hallway.

• 廊ろう下かで〈人ひと〉に会あうto run into someone in the corridor

  廊ろう下かで先せん生せいに会あって挨あい拶さつした。

  I ran into my teacher in the hallway and greeted her.
