half-lined cardinalfish
A small marine fish (Ostorhinchus semilineatus) found in the western Pacific. The Japanese name literally means 'prayer sea bream', possibly from its appearance or behavior.
The half-lined cardinalfish is nocturnal and hides in rock crevices during the day.
