To wipe a surface, object, or body part with a cloth, tissue, or similar material, often to clean or dry it.
テーブルを拭いてください。
Please wipe the table.
I dry my body with a towel after a bath.
I wiped off my sweat with a towel.
He wiped the sweat from his forehead.
She wiped away her tears and smiled.
I wiped the table clean.
拭く means to wipe with a cloth, whereas 掃く means to sweep with a broom or brush, so the two are easily confused as generic 'clean' verbs but use different tools.
