godan verb (-mu), transitive verb
Used specifically for ingesting medicine, pills, or supplements. The kanji 服 is associated with taking medicine, while 飲む is the general verb for drinking. In practice, 飲む is also commonly used for medicine, but 服む explicitly marks the medicinal context.
