Standard kanji form; the reading きしかた is more common than こしかた.
Less common reading; encountered mainly in classical or literary contexts.
From 来し, consisting of 来 and し, the attributive form of the classical past auxiliary き, plus 方, “direction”: literally, “the direction from which one came,” hence the past.
