Expresses a feeling of regret at parting from a person, place, or thing; often used when something enjoyable is ending. More emotional than 惜しい.

• 楽たのしい旅りょ行こうも終おわりに近ちかづき、残のこり惜おしい気き持もちでいっぱいだ。

  As the fun trip nears its end, I'm filled with a feeling of not wanting it to end.

• 彼かの女じょとの別わかれが残のこり惜おしくて、なかなか駅えきから離はなれられなかった。

  Parting from her was so hard that I couldn't bring myself to leave the station.
