leaving textbooks at school; not bringing study materials home

Student slang for the habit of leaving textbooks, notebooks, and other study materials at school instead of taking them home. Often used in the phrase 置き勉する.

• テスト前まえなのに、また置おき勉べんしちゃった。

  Even though exams are coming up, I left my textbooks at school again.

• 置おき勉べんが多おおくて、ロッカーがパンパンだ。

  I leave so many books at school that my locker is stuffed.
