• 友とも達だちからプレゼントをもらった。

  I received a present from a friend.

• 先せん生せいにアドバイスをもらいました。

  I got advice from my teacher.

Auxiliary use after a verb in て-form. Indicates that the subject has someone else perform the action, often as a favor. The person doing the action is marked with に.

  I'll get a friend to help me with my homework.
