high-pass filter; HPF
Technical term in computing and signal processing. Refers to a filter that passes signals with a frequency higher than a certain cutoff frequency and attenuates signals with frequencies lower than the cutoff.
Remove low-frequency noise using a high-pass filter.
Low-pass filter; passes low frequencies and attenuates high frequencies, opposite of 高域通過フィルタ.
Band-pass filter; passes frequencies within a certain range and attenuates frequencies outside that range.
Compound of 高域 (high-frequency range), 通過 (passing through), and フィルタ (filter). A direct calque of English 'high-pass filter'.
