なお introduces a relevant but secondary note after the main information. It is especially common in formal notices, instructions, explanations, and business communication.
How it organizes information
The sentence before なお gives the main message. The following sentence adds something useful—often a reminder, practical detail, qualification, or related fact—without becoming another equal main point.
A practical note in a notice
受付は午後五時までです。なお、必要書類は事前にウェブサイトでご確認ください。
Registration is open until 5:00 p.m. Please also check the website in advance for the required documents.

Common kinds of supplement
なお does not have to introduce a restriction. It can simply add a useful subsidiary fact.
会議は三階の大会議室で行います。なお、資料は各席に用意してあります。
The meeting will be held in the large conference room on the third floor. Please note that the materials have been placed at each seat.
Analyze調査結果は来月公表する予定です。なお、概要は当社のウェブサイトにも掲載します。
The survey results are scheduled for publication next month. A summary will also be posted on our website.
AnalyzeChoosing the right connector
なお adds a formal, relevant supplement. ちなみに introduces a lighter side fact, much like “by the way.” ただし gives a condition, exception, or limitation that affects how the preceding statement applies. また normally adds another parallel main point rather than presenting it as secondary.
