The "oh, and one more thing" of conversation. You have said what you wanted, and you tack on one more: usually another item or another request.

帰かえりに卵たまごを買かってきて。あ、それと、牛ぎゅう乳にゅうも買かってきて。

Pick up some eggs on your way home. Oh, and get some milk too.

How to form it

Sentence。それと、+ one more thing

It opens the new sentence, often after あ, "oh". What you add usually takes も.

After it: One more item, request or question, or one more thing to tell someone.
Where you'll meet it: Conversation, polite or casual: ordering, shopping, the end of a call or a meeting, chat messages. Not in essays or reports.
How it sounds: Light, as if it has just come to mind.

それと or それに?

それに adds a second point that pulls the same way, like a second reason. それと adds anything at all. It doesn't have to have anything to do with what came before.

今日きょうはありがとう。それと、写しゃ真しんをあとで送おくってね。

Thanks for today. Oh, and send me the photos later, okay?

A thank-you, then a request. Nothing links them, and nothing has to.

Sounds odd: 今日きょうはありがとう。それに、写しゃ真しんをあとで送おくってね。

Thanks for today. Besides, send me the photos later, okay?

A thank-you and a request don't add up to one point.

One kana longer and a different word: "or", in a question that offers a choice.
