それとAnd; one more thing

それと casually adds one more item, request, question, or topic to a conversation. It often feels like “and” or “one more thing.”

Adding something after a pause

Use それと when the main point seems complete but you remember or decide to add something else. The new item does not have to support the first point closely; it can simply be another thing on your list or another matter you want to mention.

Adding to an order

Friend A

Have you decided what to order?

Analyze
Friend B

Yeah, I’ll have the curry. And maybe I’ll order a salad too.

Analyze

The salad is an extra item added after the main choice has already been stated.

One more request

Friend A

Okay, see you tomorrow.

Analyze
Friend B

One more thing—could you send me directions to the station later?

Analyze

それと keeps the conversation going just as it seems ready to end.

Lists and topic additions

Shopping, planning, and casual reminders are especially natural contexts.

Is that everything we need to buy? Oh, and we needed detergent too.

Analyze

That’s all for today’s schedule. One more thing—could I talk to you briefly about the matter from earlier?

Analyze

Choosing the right connective

それと loosely adds another item or topic. それに more often adds a supporting reason or detail pointing in the same direction. それから can also add something conversationally, but it can explicitly mark the next event or step. By contrast, それとも presents an alternative in a question rather than adding another item.
