ばかりでなくNot only A, but also B
ばかりでなく adds a second item or fact beyond the first: “not only A, but also B.” It is especially comfortable in explanations and balanced statements.
How the addition works
Attach ばかりでなく to A, then state B. B often contains も, which makes the added relationship explicit. A and B should normally be comparable items, qualities, or facts viewed from the same angle.
Balanced additions
The construction can connect nouns or whole facts. It does not inherently mean that B is more extreme than A.

Keep A and B parallel
The sentence is easiest to understand when A and B answer the same question: two things the course covers, two benefits of a plan, or two changes caused by a system. B frequently uses も, but another particle may appear when B needs a different role in its clause.
Choosing among close alternatives
だけでなく is usually the everyday default. ばかりでなく is somewhat stiffer on average and suits balanced explanation. ばかりか more readily presents B as a stronger or surprising development, while のみならず is markedly more formal and more strongly associated with writing. These are tendencies rather than absolute restrictions.
