Used when someone is notably better than others in a skill, field, or quality. Often followed by ～で or ～に秀でる.
彼は数学に秀でている。
He excels in mathematics.
彼女は語学の
She has an outstanding talent for languages.

Specifically used for physical features, especially the forehead and eyebrows, that are noticeably prominent or well-defined. Less common than sense 1.

He has a prominent forehead.
